The Treasurer's office collects and distributes all Real Estate, Personal Property and auto registration taxes. The Auto Registration department registers all automobiles, trailers, boats and motorcycles. We do all title work, VIN inspections, drivers license and ID cards.

1st half delinquent May 1st, 2nd half delinquent Sept. 1st of each year, del int. rate 14%

When and how do I purchase a tax sale certificate?

1. Delinquent taxes are advertised the first three weeks in February, Public sale opens first Monday in March at 9:00 a.m. Public sale closes when all parcels are offed for sale, then all delinquent taxes are offered for sale under Private Tax Sale.
2. Redemption time is three years.
3. Interest rate is 14%
4. During the life of the certificate, subsequent taxes must be paid as they become delinquent.
5. You are responsible for your own process when certificates mature.

7. We do not allow purchases via fax or telephone.
8. The purchaser must research his/her own information to purchase.
9. We do not accept "personal checks". You must submit payment by money order or cashier's check.

How do I get a refund on my plates?
When you sell or trade your vehicle, you must return you old plates to receive a refund.

What do I need to register a new car?
Proof of insurance, sales tax form, title, odometer statement from your auto dealer. If you purchase a vehicle from a private party, you must have a bill of sale from the seller, title signed by the seller, and proof of insurance.

What vehicles need to be inspected?
All vehicles purchased outside of Nebraska and all salvage vehicles.
