May 10, 2016 - Primary Election

  • December 4, 2015 - Last day for any potential candidate to change his/her party affiliation in order to be eligible to file as a candidate in that party's primary election. (Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-612: 1st Friday in December prior to statewide primary).
  • December 1, 2015 - First day a person may file for office to have their name placed on the ballot as a candidate at the 2016 election. (Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-606). (Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-941: 120 days prior to election).
  • January 10, 2016 - First day to accept early voting request for primary election. (Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-941: 120 days prior to election).
  • Feburary 16, 2016 - Incumbent filing deadline. Last day for any current elected office holder to file for office on the Primary ballot. (Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-606).
  • March 1, 2016 - Non-Incumbent Filing deadline. Last day for any new filers to file for office on the Primary ballot.(Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-606). Deadline for Political Subdivision to submit special issue for primary ballot. (Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-559).
  • April 11, 2016 - Early Voting starts. (Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-808: 35 days prior to election).
  • April 22, 2016 - Last day voter registrations can be completed Online, at DMV or County Treasurers for the person to be registered to vote in an upcoming election. Postmark deadline for mailed in voter registrations. (Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-321 & 32-308: 3rd Friday before next election).
  • May 2, 2016 - Last day for in person voter registration or changes to existing registrations. Election Office open until 6:00 p.m.
  • May 4, 2016 - 4:00 p.m. Deadline to accept request for early ballots to be mailed to a specific address. (Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-941: Wednesday preceding the election).
  • May 4, 2016 - 6:30 p.m. Election training for poll workers (Commissioners Room).
  • May 5, 2016 - 2:00 p.m. Election training for poll workers (Commissioners Room).
  • May 9, 2016 - 7:00 p.m. Last day for Early Voting - in person - at the County Clerk or Election Commissioner office. Deadline for agent to pick up early voting ballot. (Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-943). Deadline for return in person of early voting ballot. (Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-950).
  • May 10, 2016 - 6:00 p.m. - PRIMARY ELECTION DAY (Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-401: 1st Tuesday after 2nd Monday in May) Deadline for agent to pick up early voting ballot. (Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-943) Deadline for return of early voting ballot in person - No later than closing of the polls. (Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-950)

  • October 28, 2016 - 6:00 p.m. Deadline for in-person voter registration. (Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-302: 6:00 p.m. on 2nd Friday before election).
  • November 2, 2016 - 4:00 p.m. - Deadline to accept request for early voting ballots to be mailed to a specific address. (Neb. Rev. Stat. 32-941: Wednesday preceding the election).
