Scotts Bluff County - County Clerk

The County Clerk's office is responsible for fulfilling open records requests, issuing marriage licenses, issuing liquor licenses, payroll, accounts payable, voter registration, and conducting all county, state and federal elections.

Birth and death records are no longer filed at the County level. All such records are filed with Health & Human Services, Lincoln, NE. Contact: Vital Records, 1033 "O" Street, Ste, 130, Lincoln, NE 68508. Phone: (402) 471-2871. Copies of birth records are $12.00 each. Copies of death records are $11.00 each. Marriage and divorce records are also available at $11.00 per copy.

Marriage license applicants are required to provide the following information: maiden names of both mothers, birth places of all four parents; social security numbers; photographic identification. The fee for a marriage license is $15.00 and the license is good for one year. No medical tests are required in the State of Nebraska.

The County Clerk Office does NOT handle Motor Vehicle Titles, they may be obtained through the County Auto Registration Office.

Scotts Bluff County does NOT have any taxpayer-funded lobbyists on retainer. Scotts Bluff County is a member of NACO - Nebraska Association of County Officials. Scotts Bluff County pays dues based on property valuation to NACO. NACO is not retained as a lobbying organization as such but the NACO Executive Director works closely with the Legislature when the Senators are in session and also requests various Senators to introduce legislation in behalf of NACO.

RFPs for the Provider of Contractor Services for Tourism for Scotts Bluff County, NE will be available in the office of the Scotts Bluff County Clerk, County Administration Building, 1825 10th Street, Gering, NE 69341 on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 beginning at 8:00 A.M. RFPs must be received in the County Clerk's Office, 1825 10th Street, Gering, NE by 4:00 P.M., MDT, July 21, 2011. The RFPs will be opened in the County Clerk's office at 4:00 P.M. MDT, July 21, 2011. Interested individuals and/or entities will be required to sign for the RFP.
